Inspired by Starbucks’ famous drink, this reimagined Matcha Latte lets you enjoy the authentic taste of matcha without the sugar overload. Made with high-quality matcha and the frothy milk of your choice, it’s a comforting, gently energising alternative to classic coffee-based drinks—easy to make at home and easy to customise to your taste and diet. Sift the matcha into a bowl. Pour in the hot water and whisk briskly with a chasen or an electric frother until smooth and lightly foamy.
Warm the milk without boiling. Froth it with a milk frother or whisk until airy.
In a glass, add the cane sugar syrup, then pour in the dissolved matcha. Add the warm milk while holding back the foam, then spoon the foam on top.
For a refreshing version, fill a glass with ice cubes, add the syrup, the dissolved matcha, then top with cold milk. Stir gently before enjoying.
Add a pinch of vanilla for a softer flavour, or swap the syrup for honey or maple syrup. For an extra indulgent touch, dust a little matcha over the foam before serving.
