Why choose Matcha Matcha as your matcha supplier

Most wholesale matcha suppliers ask you to fill in a form, wait for a quote and sometimes speak to a sales rep. We did the opposite. Your trade account takes two minutes to set up: your EU VAT number is checked in real time, and you immediately see your prices, your volume discounts and the shipping costs to your address. You order online whenever you like, with no haggling every time you restock.

What sets us apart next is origin. Our Ceremonial Matcha comes from a single region, Kagoshima, in the far south of Japan. We don’t blend lots from different origins to hit a price point: from one order to the next, you get the same colour, the same taste and the same behaviour in milk.

Finally, we are a small company, and that works in your favour. When you write to us, it’s Alex, the founder, who replies, always within 24 hours. He knows the product, the dosages and how to store it, and he will tell you honestly whether our matcha suits what you want to do with it.

Our matcha for professionals

Organic Ceremonial Matcha from Japan: ceremonial grade matcha for professionals

We keep our range deliberately short. At its heart is a single flagship matcha, the Organic Ceremonial Matcha from Kagoshima, which you can serve neat, in lattes, in pastries or sell on.

Organic Ceremonial Matcha: neat, in lattes, for resale

It comes from the Yabukita cultivar, picked at the first spring harvest after around three weeks of shading. Shading raises the chlorophyll and amino acids in the leaf: that is what gives it its vivid green colour and its smooth taste with no bitterness. The leaves are then slowly ground on a stone mill into a very fine powder that whisks easily and makes a dense foam.

Serve it neat, whisked, if you want a menu that stands out. Use it in your lattes if your customers want a matcha with real flavour, even with milk. It is also the one we recommend for resale in delis: it is the matcha your customers will taste at home, without milk or sugar.

Alongside it: Yulan Bio

For drinks where the matcha disappears under sugar, syrups or ice, we also offer Yulan Bio, at a lower ingredient cost. It complements the Ceremonial; it does not replace it.

Wholesale matcha green tea for every type of business

A coffee shop, a restaurant and a deli don’t expect the same things from their matcha. Here is what we recommend to each of them, starting from the same organic Kagoshima matcha.

Matcha for coffee shops and matcha bars

You need a matcha that stays green and keeps its flavour in milk, hot or iced, and behaves the same way from one cup to the next. Organic Ceremonial Matcha makes a bright green latte; set one dose for the whole team and your lattes will be consistent.

Matcha for restaurants and tea rooms

Matcha served neat and whisked, at the end of a meal or with a dessert, makes a menu stand out. For that you need a ceremonial grade, smooth and free of bitterness, that guests drink without adding anything.

Matcha for hotels

At breakfast, at the bar, in the spa or in a welcome gift box: in bulk for your teams, or in pouches and tins under your own name for your guests.

Matcha for bakeries and patisseries

A fine powder colours and flavours creams, icings, financiers and viennoiseries. The Ceremonial gives the brightest colour when matcha is the star of the cake.

Matcha for delis and retailers

Ready-to-sell 50g pouches and 30g tins, under our brand or yours. The Ceremonial is the one your customers will judge at home, without milk or sugar.

Matcha for businesses and corporate gifts

Corporate matcha gift sets, with whisks and scoops engraved with your logo from 50 pieces, for your clients, your teams or your events.

Price per kilo and profitability

Wholesale matcha price per kilo: what a matcha latte really costs

A price per kilo doesn’t tell you much until you bring it down to the cup. At 2 to 3g of matcha per latte, one kilo makes between 330 and 500 drinks. Divide your price per kilo by 400 and you get a rough idea of the ingredient cost per latte, milk excluded. Even with a first harvest organic matcha, the matcha latte remains one of the most profitable drinks on a menu, often sold for more than a caffè latte at a similar cost price.

The price of matcha depends on three things: the grade, the harvest and the volume ordered. A ceremonial grade matcha, picked in spring and stone-ground, costs more than a late-season culinary matcha, but it keeps its colour and flavour under milk, and that is what your customers pay for. Our trade prices then drop by tier: bulk at 1, 5, 10 and 20kg, 50g pouches and 30g tins for resale. You see every tier and its price per kilo in your trade account as soon as you sign up.

Origin, organic certification and documents

Our Ceremonial Matcha is grown in Kagoshima, on the island of Kyushu in southern Japan, one of the country’s leading tea-growing regions thanks to its mild climate and volcanic soils. It is certified organic (AB) and JAS, free from pesticides and additives, and stone-ground.

For a professional, these certifications only count if they can be proven. Once your trade account is set up, we will send you on request our organic certificate, the technical data sheet and the analyses for the lot you receive: everything you need for your menu, your allergen sheet or your customers’ questions.

How to vet a matcha tea supplier

Before choosing a matcha wholesaler, ask four questions, to us as much as to anyone else. Where does the matcha come from, and is it from a single region? For us, Kagoshima, with no blended lots. Can you see the certificate and the analyses? Yes, on request after signing up. What is the minimum order, and can you taste it first? 1kg, and a sample on request. How long does it take to get a price? Two minutes, the time it takes to create your account.

To go further, our guide covers the grades, what drives the price of matcha and the pitfalls to avoid: how to choose your matcha supplier.

What we don’t do

So you know what to expect: no flavoured matcha, no blends and no instant mixes, only pure matcha powder. No training, no territorial exclusivity, and no delivery outside Europe for now. If your project falls outside this scope, write to us anyway: we will tell you honestly whether we can help, or who to turn to.
