Ingredients (serves 2):
- 10 g matcha powder — Organic Ceremonial Matcha
- 300 ml hot water
- 300 ml plant-based milk or dairy milk
- 80 ml liquid cane sugar syrup
- 160 g cooked tapioca pearls
Instructions:
Step 1: Prepare the matcha
- Whisk the matcha: Add matcha powder to a bowl and pour in 50 ml hot water (70–75°C). Whisk vigorously with a bamboo whisk (chasen) or a small whisk until smooth and lightly frothy.
- Add the remaining water: Pour the mix into a teapot or jug, then add the remaining 250 ml water. Stir well.
Step 2: Build the Bubble Tea
- Add tapioca pearls: Divide cooked pearls between the bottom of two glasses.
- Add milk: Pour the milk (plant-based or dairy) into each glass, then add the cane sugar syrup.
Step 3: Add the matcha
- Pour the matcha: Gently pour the matcha over the milk for a beautiful layered look.
Step 4: Enjoy
